Welcome
to the
Dawson Creek Rotary Noon and Dawson Creek Sunrise Clubs website.
This website is dedicated to the trip to Mexico otherwise known as

"Project Amigo"

What is Project Amigo ? For the Dawson Creek, BC Rotary clubs, it is an opportunity to assist the poor in Mexico and Guatemala . We will be doing this by driving 6 school buses, 2 ambulances and 1 fire truck in a convoy thousands of miles in the middle of the Canadian Winter to donate equipment and the vehicles to the less fortunate.

A contingent of 19 Rotarians/friends will leave Dawson Creek, BC on February 12, 2007 and arrive at the Mexican border (Nogales) around February 24th.
These vehicles will be jam packed with medical equipment/computers and other donations from the area. Because of issues with customs at the Mexican border, we will be stopping in Salt Lake City and unloading all the contents of the vehicles into a large container that will go to Guatemala as part of another "Rotary Project".
At Nogales, we will have Rotarians from Mexico join us on our travels to Coima. In Colima, we will be distributing all 9 of these vehicles to needy organizations with the help of our Mexican colleagues.
We will be stopping along the way to promote awareness of the poor in Mexico. We will also be visiting rotary clubs along the way. A few of the busses are on straight propane and we will need to know where along the route where we can get propane. If you can help with billeting/fuel or anything that might assist us, please contact Larry Moody @ 250-782-0563
